Yan is a founder at Delphi Digital, an organisation which started out researching culture, moved into consulting (actually building stuff) and then moved into full-on investment. Delphi have financed scores of projects, including Polemos. Eighty-five people say they work for Delphi on LinkedIn, double what is listed on the website. That speaks to explosive growth.
Hal: So Yan, you’ve been through some ups and downs because you were in culture in 2017. So you experienced the fluctuations of the market a few times since then. I think two big downturns, and we’re still in the second of those. Is that exhausting?
Every GWEVA collection begins with a conviction: that streetwear can carry weight — spiritually, culturally and literally. Our design team starts with scripture, story and the textures of South African city life, then translates them into heavyweight cotton and editorial silhouettes.
Fabric is where luxury starts. We weigh every candidate cloth, wash-test it for shrinkage and colour-fastness, and reject anything under 220gsm. The result is a drape that holds its structure season after season — the quiet confidence you feel when a piece simply fits right.
Limited numbers are a promise, not a marketing trick. Each drop is cut, printed and finished in small runs, then numbered and released. When it sells out, it is gone — because exclusivity should mean something.
Trust your dopeness. Walk by faith. Wear your purpose. These are not slogans to us — they are the framework for every seam, print and label that leaves the studio.

Beautiful heavyweight piece — the fit is editorial and the fabric feels premium. Delivery was quick and the packaging alone felt like a gift. Wearing my purpose every week.
